Keep in mind that the cheaper wood computer desks may actually be made of chipboard and the surfaces covered with a thin wooden skin of real wood.

You can’t go too far wrong with a wood computer desk, however watch out for poor manufacturing. An oak desk is always highly recommended for its timeless beauty and durability, and you definitely won’t regret investing in one.
